Survey Design and Tendering

A custom made 3D survey design, that respects the geological targets and the client's budget, is the key for every successful seismic project. In close cooperation with the client NISECO takes all information available for the project into account and develops several design options with the OMNI Workshop software from Schlumberger (GEDCO). Later, with the help of satellite images or other GIS data, the chosen grid is optimized and adapted to the environment to move forward with inviting contractors to tender, starting the permitting process and the environmental assessment study. 

Supervision of Seismic Crews

 NISECO offers Client Representative, the so-called “Birddog”services worldwide with a lot of experience from 2D and 3D land, marine and transition zone projects using explosive seismic, Vibroseis, weight drop , air gun sources, all major cable-based and wireless recording systems from Sercel, Stryde, Smart Solo. NISCEO supervises the general field work of the acquisition crew in terms of safety (HSE), quality and permit to make sure all things go smooth in the field and the disturbance to the sensitive local population is minimized. The recording and ancillary data is analyzed and checked daily to make sure the recording crew follows the acquisition parameters and quality standards. The client is informed daily about the performace and progress of the crew.

Technical Audit and Parameter Test

An extensive technical audit is performed by NISECO on seismic sources, survey equipment and receivers before the equipment is deployed in the field. A detailed report of the audit summarizes the performance of the seismic equipment.

During the startup acquisition parameters need to be tested. For many years NISECO designed custom made testing programs, supervised parameter startup tests for explosive and Vibroseis sources in the field and evaluated them with its clients keeping an eye on the data quality and the acquisition costs.

Processing Supervision

Once the data is successfully acquired, the next important step needs to be taken – the processing the seismic data up to Prestacktime and -depth migration. NISECO can help you to find and supervise the right processing company with the best packages for your budget. Quality control of all steps are done with VISTA processing software from Schlumberger (GEDCO).
